As the Digital Marketing and Communications Manager for St. Louis Initiatives in the Office of the Chancellor, Emily Wasserman is responsible for formulating and executing multifaceted digital marketing strategies that are closely aligned with the organization’s overarching mission and goals. She reports to Lisa Weingarth, senior advisor for St. Louis initiatives.
Emily began her career as a journalist based in Washington, DC, where she covered the biotech industry for B2B and tech publications. A WashU alum and native St. Louisian, Emily returned home in 2016 and joined Washington University School of Medicine’s Department of Genetics to manage communications and digital marketing.
Prior to her role with the St. Louis Initiatives team, Emily worked as the Digital Marketing and Communications Manager in the Department of Pathology & Immunology at Washington University School of Medicine, where she crafted and disseminated custom marketing materials, helped overhaul the department websites, and expanded its social media across platforms.
Emily earned her master’s degree in journalism from Northwestern University in 2013, and her bachelor’s degree in English and French from WashU in 2010. She is thrilled to contribute to her alma mater and hometown in her current role with St. Louis Initiatives.
